Since I was a child, I've been curious. I've been characterized by an endless thirst for learning, especially about what captures my attention. For 18 years, I passionately worked as a teacher, a vocation that allowed me to impact many lives. However, I felt the need to remain faithful to a deep desire to learn the art of shoemaking.
Viviana Torres Rivera, the designer

My relationship with footwear was never superficial. I spent the first eight years of my life wearing orthopedic shoes, which led me to meticulously observe every pair I saw, almost like a sport. I loved imagining myself in other people's shoes (and, interestingly, I still do, albeit in a different way). I developed a special bond with shoes; they became an extension of my identity, a means through which I could express myself. In fact, I choose clothes that complement my shoes, not the other way around.
I trained as a designer and shoemaker in Buenos Aires at the López Vizcaíno Workshop School, where I perfected my design techniques and shoemaking skills for two years. It was a period filled with experimentation, during which I designed and crafted different shoe structures, tested materials, and employed various processes.
During the pandemic, due to strict quarantine policies, I was confined to Buenos Aires. It was at that moment that I decided to venture into producing my first capsule collection. "I have nothing to lose," I thought.
So, in November 2021, I launched 20|20. I approached it as an experimental, pilot process, confirming how much more there was to learn. Since then, I haven't stopped that mission.
As a designer, my goal is to create conversation pieces, functional pieces of art, that are also capable of sparking memorable moments.
In each pair goes a part of me, a little piece of my soul that accompanies them.
